The name, Umbra & Aura, is an ode to the duality of yin and yang, representing the coalescence of shadows and light.
UM·BRA [ˈəmbrə]
Shadow or darkness.
AU·RA [ˈȯr-ə ]
A luminous radiation.
Together, they illustrate the contrast and balance intrinsic to life.
This is a space where individual expression through hair is celebrated and fostered. The artistic possibilities of color, cut, and style don’t fit into a box, and we don’t have to either!
For me, it's important to curate an experience which leaves you feeling valued, refreshed & beautiful, because you ARE!
ABOUT ME
I'm Emily Cimerol, the creator behind Umbra & Aura Salon.
I became a licensed cosmetologist in 2014, and I’m so thankful to now have my own space, where I can focus on my specialties-
Vivid hair coloring & unconventional creative color placement!
To me, hair styling is a form of wearable art. Especially when it involves creating unique color placement, or sculpting a fun textured cut- there are no limits on the artistic possibilities!
I believe salon experiences should be a collaboration between you and your stylist. Creating a style that both captures your vision and considers your lifestyle is key.
That being said, I love when guests bring in inspiration photos! It’s specifically helpful because:
1. It allows me to get a feel for your likes, ask any questions for clarity, and see a visual representation of your goal.
2. It also opens up the conversation on what is realistically achievable and suited to your lifestyle.
With a thorough consultation, we can come up with an individually customized look that is true to you, and makes you feel amazing!
